It is still important to take safety precautions even after receiving a COVID-19 vaccine.
2. Tips for Travel: Is it a good idea to travel?
Answer: avoid travelling, unless it is essential!
As we get closer to upcoming spring events, like graduations and weddings, you may be wondering whether it is safe to travel. Despite relaxed travel restrictions across the country, there is evidence of a potential fourth wave of COVID-19 cases. Further, the new variants are more transmissible from person to person and pose an increased risk for more severe disease, hospitalization, and death.
- If it has been longer than 2 weeks after you have received your final, or only, dose of the vaccine, you are able to travel more safely, but it is important to remember that there is still some risk of contracting COVID-19 even after vaccination.
- However, regardless of your vaccination status, if your travel is non-essential, it is still best to avoid travelling. Or you may consider driving instead of flying to your destination (especially if you are immunocompromised or plan on visiting someone who is immunocompromised).
- Before visiting a different state, be sure to check to see if there are any travel restrictions, or if the COVID-19 case numbers are increasing.

3. All Things Vaccine: How to register for a vaccination appointment!
You’re probably hearing a lot about vaccine hesitancy, but a big contributor to the problem is access and convenience related to getting a vaccination appointment. If you are wondering how to register yourself or someone else for a vaccine appointment through the Arizona state system, keep reading!
How to register for a vaccine appointment:
- Visit podvaccine.azdhs.gov
If you already have an account:
- If you already have an account, click “Login”.
- Start from step 13
If you do not have an account:
- If you do not have an account, click “Not a user? Create a new Account here”

- Fill in your information, but don’t worry your information is kept safe on a highly secure platform.

- Check your email for a message from “podvaccine-noreply@azdhs.gov”
- Click the link provided in the email to set up a password and complete your registration
- The link will take you to a webpage that asks you to enter your email (see below)

- Check your email again for another message from “podvaccine-noreply@azdhs.gov”. This email should contain a verification code. Copy the code and paste it into the “Secondary Verification code” box.

- Create your password and click “Continue”

- Click “Login” and provide your email and password (that you just created)

- Click “Book Appointment”

- Select who you are booking the appointment for (either yourself or a dependent/family member). Then click “Next” at the bottom right of the screen.

- Select “COVID-19” for the vaccination program, then click “Next”

- Fill out all personal and contact information for the person you are booking the appointment for and then click “Next”

- Answer the health insurance question and click “Next”

Note: you do not need health insurance to receive a COVID-19 vaccination. If you prefer not to include your health insurance information, select “No”. Otherwise, select “Yes” and fill out your information

Answer the supplemental questions and click “Next”

Now you can schedule your appointment by selecting the “Event”, then “Date”, and finally “Time”. Then click “Next”

After selecting your appointment, fill out the consent form.
